Oct. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Schubros Brewery, an innovative craft brewery that offers distinctively reciped beers, is joining East Bay restaurateur, Rodney Worth, to pair Schubros’ Nico American Wheat, 680 IPA, Diablo Dark and Festbier with Ferrari’s nouveau Italian cuisine.

Ferrari’s and Schubros will be raffling off a beer-food pairing dinner for one lucky winner during San Ramon’s Annual Wine and Dine event on October 18 at San Ramon's Clubsport from 5:30 to 8:30. The dinner, featuring a four-course food and beer pairing dinner for 10, is part of Schubros’ ongoing initiative to partner with leading East Bay executive chefs in providing a unique gourmet experience for epicures throughout the Bay Area.

Recently opened in Blackhawk this summer, Worth’s newest East Bay restaurant offers made-fresh to order pastas and hand-tossed pizzas ranging from simple margherita with mozzarella and fresh basil to more elaborate creations with gorgonzola, caramelized onions and -- Worth’s trademark ingredient, pears.  Meanwhile, Schubros crafts its beers with a deliberate eye toward food pairing.  Nico American Wheat pairs well with a range of lighter fare, while 680 IPA is built to cut through cheeses and fattier foods. Festbier, the brewery’s seasonal Bavarian lager, was brewed to complement meats like sausage and ham, while Diablo Dark will call for braised meats, oysters and even chocolate.

“We’re excited to partner with Rodney Worth,” said Ian Schuster, president of Schubros Brewery. He has struck the right chord with his high quality but affordable and unpretentious food and restaurant setting.”

“I’m looking forward to pairing our beers with Ferrari’s Neopolitan fare,” said Mike Johannsen, Schubros Brewery’s Chief Brewing Officer. The versatility of our brews will bring out the flavors of Ferrari’s contemporary starters, pizzas, paninis, pastas and entrees.”

“Seeing Ferrari’s and Schubros come together at this event is encouraging,”  said Stewart Bambino, Chairman of the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce. “This is a perfect example of how two community-focused businesses are working together to brave a tough startup environment -- helping each other out to make both successful.  It’s exactly the kind of collaboration that our chamber works to foster.”

The food and beer pairing prize at San Ramon’s Wine and Dine is part of Schubros’ ongoing effort to rally small business and celebrate culinary excellence, whereby gourmet food is paired with the brewery’s artisan beers to benefit worthwhile causes such as organizations that fundraise for local schools, The Semper Fi Foundation and events that promote the community like the Danville Fall Crafts Festival.
