PRLog - Oct. 16, 2012 - CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Carlsbad, California (October 16, 2012) – Like many people, Devin C. Hughes knows what it is like to not belong. Raised by a white mother and a black father, Hughes spent much of his childhood and young adult life trying to figure out where he fit in. Adding to the confusion, Hughes’ parents had their own problems. His mother was a drug addict, his father, an alcoholic. Hughes was a gifted student, yet he struggled with dyslexia. His life was often a study of contradiction.
Now a successful speaker, coach and author, Hughes offers a comic for kids who are struggling to fit-in, alienated from their peers and disconnected from friends and family. It highlights the enormous power of self-talk. Self-Talk is those internal conversations that characterize how we view the world and influence every part of our lives- relationships, achievements, attitude and ultimately our degree of happiness.
The comic is a resource for educators and parents, or anyone who wants to promote education, a sense of pride and accomplishment, and self-esteem within their students and children. “
Self Talk is available at major retailers such as Barnes and Noble and Amazon in via Nook and Kindle versions.
