Fifty Years of Deer-Stand Reflections
This book was released in late 2011 and is the first of a unique series of three books intended to be read while outdoors. It is now being released as an eBook. “My second book, titled Fifty Years of Gathering, Fishing, and Unusual Animal Encounters; Lessons-Learned of a Michigan Outdoorsman, will be released both in hard copy and as an eBook in 2013. My third and last book in this series is Fifty Years of Memorable Hunting Experiences;
“Listen to the words of Joe Lunkas and you personally feel the full meaning of the “hunt” … One of the points he brings to the table is the fact that today most people are out of tune with the natural world … His advice was top notch … Fifty Years of Deer-Stand Reflections is a learning experience; an enjoyable read.” – Betty Sodders, Woods-n-Waters News and Whitetails Unlimited Magazine

About the Author: Joe Lunkas, a long-time Flint area resident, now lives in Mesick, Michigan. As an accomplished and nationally recognized Master Deer Hunter throughout the 1980s, the author has had and continues to have many of his freelance outdoor-related articles published.
“At 64, I am still in pretty good shape. Other than being a life-long fanatical and accomplished deer hunter and outdoorsman, I embraced and survived the radical 1960s, earned my associate degree in science and mathematics under the temporary security of a college military deferment, endured over three years with the U.S. Army amid the chaos and horrors of the Vietnam era in the early 1970s, returned to college to earn my BBA in 1979 with the aid of the GI Bill, continued raising our combined total of eight children, and persevered for over 40 turbulent, but challenging and rewarding years with General Motors Corporation as a problem solver and senior vehicle development engineer at GM’s Milford Proving Ground. Now in retirement, I continue to learn as an outdoorsman and outdoor writer.”
