While nobody truly knows what would have happened had Santa Margarita (California)
That loss is Manatee’s gain, as the Bradenton, Florida high school slides into the top spot. Like Santa Margarita, the Hurricanes will have to play the rest of the season without their star running back Anthony Lauro, who like Stanton, is out for the season with a torn ACL.
However, that’s not the only change as #5 Byrnes (South Carolina) and #10 Bergen Catholic (New Jersey) all tasted defeat this weekend. Santa Margarita and BC drop out of the poll, but Byrnes stays in after the close 22-18 loss to Gaffney.
Two newcomers are: Mater Dei (California)
