The juror for “Crossing the Line with Paper” is Ron Bishop, Director, Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison State College http://www.bobrauschenberggallery.com/
Bishop has been at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery for 14 years, where he is responsible for all aspects of operations, as well as oversight of the Museum of Medical History and the Rush Collection Gallery. He served as a State of Florida Grant Review Panelist and has been the juror for numerous shows throughout the southeast. He has served on the Board of Directors of several Florida organizations, including the Ormond Art Museum and the Volusia County Art League, and was on the Cultural Advisory Board for the City of Ormond Beach.
During his time at the Gallery at Edison State College there have been more than 60 shows, including exhibitions featuring the work of Robert Rauschenberg, a three part exhibition series featuring the work of John Cage, Robert Rauschenberg, and Merce Cunningham, and most recently a new John Cage exhibition. Bishop also developed a career retrospective of founding digital artist Laurence Gartel, a Christo and Jeanne-Claude exhibit and four major exhibitions with the Martin Z. Margulies Collection in Miami, Florida.
There will be a Juror’s Talk Tuesday, January 15, at 2:30 p.m. A reception and awards ceremony will take place Friday, January 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Phillips Gallery. Awards will be given for First Place ($500), Second Place ($250), Third Place ($125), two Merit Awards ($50 each) and four Honorable Mentions.
