People did not know where to turn. The northern spirit came to the fore and people came to the aid of those who needed it most.
. People who had to leave their homes were offered food and shelter. Having to move out at such short notice and leave everything behind must have been devastating for them.
We had our Bridal Business cut off and were unable to trade. It was days before we knew if our stock had survived or what damage had occured.
We were on the first floor and so we missed the devastation caused to KB Cycles below us, but because of the damage to the culvert under the our building, we were not allowed in to the premises until it was made safe.
We suddenly had phone calls from people wanting to offer us space they had in their own premises for us and other businesses to trade from , the offer of vans to move stock, equipment to re-start trading, help to clean up the mess and to re-locate.
The offer of help has been over whelming. We would like everyone to join us for a glass of bubbly so we can say thank you, on thursday 18th October, between 12.00 and 6.00pm.
