The annual Pops Concert “Old Man River” takes a journey down the mighty Mississippi River as NJCS presents the sights and sounds of the Broadway musical “Showboat” and other river music of the Americas. The Fourth Annual NJCS Patron Celebration "Bel Canto Gala" featuring music from the American songbook will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 7:00 pm at the Woman’s Club of Ridgewood, 215 West Ridgewood Ave. Enjoy this spectacular evening of food, wine and song in support of NJCS. As a stunning finale to the “journeys” season, NJCS will present Anton Bruckner’s unusual and spellbinding “Mass in E minor” on Saturday, June 1 at 8:00 pm at the West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 South Monroe St., Ridgewood. Take an inspirational journey with NJCS to experience Bruckner’s rare gem along with Mozart’s “Adagio” from Gran Partita and “Easter Hymn” from Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni. Linda Sweetman-Waters will accompany the chorus on the piano along with the NJCS Wind Ensemble.
