Health insurance fraud a new trend of fraud in Africa

Oct. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- According to Mr. Musika Stodart a leading expert in insurance fraud investigation in Africa, his company Stodacom has received at least 1243 cases since the beginning of this year 2012, out of these cases only 12 cases were proven to be genuine. " All insurance firms around the world are affected but UK and Asia companies are hit most" Stodart Musika says while at an assignment in Port Louis Mauritius.

The insured either inflate charges or file completely non exit-ant claims and claims huge sums of money ranging from $1500 to $150,000, fraudulent claims are mostly concentrated in Countries of North Africa South Africa and East Africa majorly in Morocco, Uganda, Kenya and South Africa. He attributes this to quack medical institutions in these countries who always connive with fraud stars to defraud unsuspecting  insurance firms.
" We have worked with a number of insurance firms from United Kingdom, Australia, China and USA, we have done a great job for them" Stodart while speaking at his offices in Kampala Uganda.
