E-waste collection program keeps old computers and electronic equipment from releasing toxic substances in landfills.
October 15, 2012 (Fountain Valley, CA)--The Fountain Valley (CA) Community Foundation will give residents a safe way to discompose of old computers, televisions, cell phones and more this Saturday when they hold an electronic waste recycling drive. The one-day collection will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Fountain Valley Sports Park, 16400 Brookhurst St. Fountain Valley, CA 92708
Fountain Valley-based Orange Coast Computers and Recycling is providing the electronic waste collection service. The free service is offered to help residents properly dispose of their e-waste and keep it from releasing toxic substances in landfills.
Accepted items will include TVs, desktop and laptop computers, cell phones, copiers, fax machines, DVD and VCR players and audio devices. Fluorescent lamps, microwaves, vacuums and refrigerators will not be accepted.
