Oct. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- (Houston, Texas)  October 15, 2012 – Pollo Campero announced today that its new Houston-area location will open Oct. 23 in Katy at 557 S. Mason Road. This will be the fourth location for the Latin chain’s recently debuted restaurant design.

In celebration of the restaurant opening, anyone with the name Katy, Katie or Katherine, will receive a free Latin Duo combo plate when they show their ID at the new Katy location the day of the opening. Katys not in the Katy area can visit Pollo Campero’s additional restaurants at 4701 Washington Ave., 6324 Texas 6 in Missouri City, and 702 West Bay Area Blvd. in Webster to receive the same celebratory gift on Oct. 23.

Pollo Campero is known for its unique Latin flavors and hand prepared fried and grilled chicken, made exactly the same way as when its first location opened in 1971 in Guatemala. The restaurant’s distinctive menu also includes fan favorite Latin specialty drinks like Mango and Horchata, unique tacos such as juicy Argentinian Steak and savory Yucatan Carnitas, and authentic empanadas inspired from several different Latin American countries.

“We are excited to introduce our Latin flavors to Katy residents to give them a unique, family-friendly dining experience,” said Lisken Kastalanych, Pollo Campero’s vice president of marketing. “We look forward to getting involved with the community and offering Katy residents a taste of Latin America.”

The restaurant recently introduced new menu additions and the ability for guests to pick two or three of their favorite menu items to enjoy as a Latin Duo or Latin Trio combination plate. With this new offering, guests can create their own Latin Mix on one plate selecting two or three tacos, empanadas or pieces of chicken with a signature side like the new Peruvian quinoa salad, the unique yuca fries or a refreshing Chilean tomato cucumber salad.

Though the Pollo Campero has a global reach today, it was founded as a small family restaurant in Guatemala. The establishment quickly grew to become the world’s largest Latin chicken restaurant chain and is embraced by more than 85 million people worldwide every year.
