BTI Travel Celebrates One Year in Downtown Syracuse

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 15, 2012 - On November 1, 2011, BTI Travel, a Syracuse-based vacation and corporate travel management company, took a risky but calculated move and uprooted its business from 620 Erie Blvd West and relocated downtown at 124 East Jefferson St.

The big move happened on October 31 and took the cooperative effort of the whole BTI Travel family, and on November 1, BTI was officially a member of the downtown community.

“Celebrating a year downtown is a great milestone,” said Jennifer DeFuria, CFO of BTI Travel.  “We couldn’t be happier with our decision.  We finally have an office that fits our growing company and the location offers great shops and restaurants.”

“Moving downtown wasn’t a simple decision, but it was one that made the most sense,” said Lou lemos, Owner of BTI Travel.  “Syracuse’s downtown provides a great support system and ample opportunity. Throughout the year, many organizations like The Downtown Committee, 40 Below, Syracuse First and Center State CEO run events and activities with the goal to strengthen local businesses.”

BTI’s move came with added risks that affected the bottom line, but early indications show BTI having a profitable year and recovering the lost revenue associated with moving.

BTI’s recent success also included its CFO being nominated for Financial Executive of the Year and being nominated for the CEO CenterState’s Business of the Year for fewer than 50 employees.
