FPRA PR University “Pump up the Volume” on event marketing, copyrights, and social media Nov 8

The SW Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is hosting PRU, its annual one-day professional development seminar on Thurs., Nov. 8. “Pump up the Volume” will cover event marketing and PR, copyright law, and social media.

Oct. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is hosting its popular annual one-day professional development seminar, PR University, on Thursday, November 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites located at 10450 Corkscrew Drive, Estero, FL 33928. This year, “Pump up the Volume” will feature national experts in large entertainment event execution, trademark and copyright law, and social media for the evolving market.

John Korff of Korff Enterprises, Inc. of New York City will provide an in-depth analysis of strategic event planning and crisis communications as he discusses how he boosted the New York City Triathlon from 634 participants to become the most popular triathlon in the USA. Korff Enterprises owns and has produced over 100 different events including professional tennis and golf tournaments, triathlons, concerts, balloon, and music festivals. Korff will share valuable insights of integrating sports marketing with production and PR skills to produce successful entertainment events.

Attorneys from the Livingston Law Firm of Naples, Florida will share expertise in trademark and copyright law to help guide attendees in protecting intellectual property rights of their brands and businesses.

Social media will also be in focus as rbb Public Relations of Miami, Florida shares insights on the growing importance of visuals in the social media experience, including how to build a corporate brand using Pinterest, best practices for Facebook, and recent changes of interest at Twitter and LinkedIn.

Full-day registration is $75 for members; $90 for nonmembers; and $35 for students. Registration is open at http://www.fpraswfl.org until Friday, November 2. Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided.
