Board Game Company Sovereign Games Announces the Release of its Board Game, Crowns

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 15, 2012 - Board game design company Sovereign Games, LLC announces today the release of its first strategy game, Crowns. “The game can already be played for free online, but physical sets are now for sale,” said Sovereign Games managing member and Crowns designer Luke Murphy.

Crowns is an abstract strategy game, putting it in the same category as ubiquitous games like Chess or Go. “Chess players may have an edge in Crowns, but they shouldn’t make the mistake of assuming that the necessary strategic thinking is the same,” said Murphy.

“Crowns has been a long time in the making,” said Murphy. “The game has been playable online for more than a year now, but professional-grade printed sets are now available to the public.”

The game has already been well received among beta testers. Michael Kummer, who was able to play a preliminary version, said “There’s really no other game like it. It’s especially cool how the game combines a blind setup like Stratego with a perfect information strategy game like chess.”
