Have great product knowledge
Make sure you’re up to date with everything you need to know about the product or service you are selling. Be ready to answer questions. Whilst a customer doesn’t want to hear “I need to get back to you about that…” too many times they also don’t want to be given the wrong information. At First Class Concepts our client's products are always changing. We regularly discuss these changes and make sure that we know everything a customer would want to know.
Remember to follow up
If you make any commitments to a customer, note them down and schedule a follow-up with them. Great customer service is the key to any sale and that starts from the first interaction with them.
Remember customer names
Being able to remember a customer's name is one of the most important things that you’ll do. No one wants to feel forgettable. If you struggle with names, write them down, along with a description of a person. If you’re at a big meeting draw a diagram of the table and write down who is where.
Don’t talk too much
At First Class Concepts we think that initial sales meetings are all about building relationships and getting information. If you’re constantly talking you’re going to struggle to do both!
Don’t listen too much
That said don’t stand there in silence, you’ve got to add something of value to a conversation. Keep control of the conversation whilst allowing for their interjections and input as you go along.
Check your appearance.
At First Class Concepts we like to make a great first impression. In this industry they can count for a lot. Make sure that your first impression is fantastic.
