RN's Input Is Used To Design New Type Of Pill Dispensers

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 14, 2012 - Mediaction managment is key to getting the best results from taking medication.  Nurses say that they are consti ntly amazed at the amount of  mistakes people make in taking their medication.  Simply put, taking your medication at the right times and on the right schedule is done improperly up to 90%of the time.

Rn's and LPN's were interview to find the most common problems  in  taking medication,  The general concensus, was simply forgetting.   The current pill box act only as a pill organizer, not a pill reminder.  The nurses advice was used to create the MED-Q Pilll Dispenser.

The MED-Q has  for a dual alarm system of reminders.  The first reminder is an audio alarm.  The alarm sounds  for five minutes.  If the user misses the alarm, it repeats it's cycle every 25 minutes until the medication is taken.  The  second alarm is a flashing LED light in the individual pill compartment that needs to be taken.  The two  alarms makes forgetting or double dosing virtually impossible.
