WHO: The Hospitality and Tourism Department and its students at San Francisco State University.
WHAT: “Taste of the Bay,” an evening of delightful food and aromatic wines, is the 16th annual fundraiser organized by the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program and the students of San Francisco State University. Guests will sample exquisite culinary creations prepared by renowned local Chefs and wine from a diverse selection of California vineyards. Guests will be able to participate in live and silent auctions, while listening to a musical performance by our own student bands.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
WHERE: The event will be held in the heart of beautiful downtown San Francisco at the National Register of Historic Places, The Bently Reserve. Built in 1924 the The Bently Reserve is one of the legendary monuments in San Francisco's vast architectural history. It combines contemporary San Francisco style with a cherished and colorful past; featuring a lavish mural in the lobby by artist Jules Guerin.
WHY: The event aims to raise funds for student scholarships, program needs, and professional development opportunities. The students engage in these professional development activities through participation in the hospitality related student organizations on campus: Hospitality Management Society, National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, Club Managers Association of America, and Profession Convention Management Association.
Taste of the Bay is open to the public. For more information or to schedule an interview, contact Kathleen Downing, Event Chair, at kathleenwdowning@
