(West Palm Beach, FL – October 10, 2012)  The Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden will be hosting four fun and horticulturally informative public events for people of all ages during November and December 2012:

More than a… Fall Plant Sale
+ Saturday, November 3 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
+ Sunday, November 4 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Throughout the Garden
FREE for members, $10 for non-members
This annual plant sale features more than 80 vendors from all over the state showcasing an amazing assortment of quality plants and goods. Come early and enjoy a rare opportunity to learn about the plants that grow in South Florida and to speak directly with the growers.
(NOTE: Mounts members can take advantage of early shopping and continental breakfast on Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m. 
The breakfast and preview is an exciting membership perk.)

Stories in the Garden – Birds  
Friday, November 9 – 10 to 11 a.m.
Mounts Pavilion
FREE for both members and non-members
Co-hosted by the Palm Beach County Library Services and the Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden, this free program is targeted for children, ages 2 to 6, and includes interactive stories and songs followed by an activity in the Garden.  This event is perfect for young nature lovers and their guardians. Rain or shine. Reservations required at 561.233.1757.

Holiday Evening Stroll
+ Saturday, December 1 – 5 to 9 p.m.
Throughout the Garden
$10 per person.
Come to Mounts for an out of the ordinary, romantic and enchanted evening that will set a delightful tone for the entire holiday season. As the sun sets, palm silhouettes and reflections on the lake help create a dreamy seasonal mood. Candle lit pathways will guide visitors towards evening fragrances of exotic flowers, as they sip and stroll while enjoying beautiful views, live jazz and special lighting effects. Gourmet food trucks, beer and wine will be available for purchase. Bring a blanket or chair for a romantic picnic under the stars. Browse the featured vendors to purchase gorgeous seasonal delights. This event is accessible to people with disabilities.

Stories in the Garden – Trees  
Friday, December 14 – 10 to 11 a.m.
Mounts Pavilion

About Mounts Botanical Garden:
Mounts Botanical Garden is Palm Beach County's oldest and largest public garden.  Mounts displays tropical and subtropical plants from around the world, including plants native to Florida, exotic trees, tropical fruit, herbs, citrus, palms and more. As a component of the Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service, and through its affiliation with the University of Florida IFAS, Mounts is the place to connect with Extension Horticulturists, Master Gardeners, the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program, and professional horticultural advisors. Mounts also offers a variety of horticultural classes, and garden-related events and workshops.
