Oct. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- AUBURN, Ind. (October 12, 2012) – Auctions America wrapped up its busy Fall calendar of events over the weekend, generating more than $2.5 million in sales with a solid 57 percent of all lots sold at its annual Fall Carlisle sale, Oct. 4 – 5 in Pennsylvania.

Held as part of Carlisle Events’ renowned Fall Carlisle Collector Car Weekend, the two-day auction presented approximately 300 automobiles joined by a selection of motorcycles and memorabilia before a packed house. Attracting strong interest from the global collector community, bidders hailed from seven countries around the world. On a national level, bidders traveled from 29 states across the United States.

Top sales honors went to a beautifully restored 1958 Chrysler 300D Convertible, one of less than 20 of its kind known to exist, which spurred a lively bidding war in the room, selling for a strong $90,750. Also attracting significant interest was a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette, resplendent in Nassau Blue with a white and blue interior, which brought $81,400.

In addition, the sale lifted the gavel on a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe which sold for $11,000 to benefit the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting research and raising awareness of the deadly disease Amyloidosis. The successful bidder graciously donated the car back after purchasing to provide opportunity to raise additional funds for this deserving cause at the company’s Spring Carlisle auction in April 2013.

“We are very happy with the results from our Fall Carlisle sale and thrilled to have joined forces with the Carlisle Events team once again to deliver another memorable collector car weekend for enthusiasts,” says Donnie Gould, president Auctions America by RM.
“Since hosting our first auction in Carlisle last year, the auction has continued to grow with bidder registrations up almost 25 percent. Significantly, we generated the same total dollar volume in sales this year as last year’s Fall Carlisle sale in just two days compared to three days in 2011. We look forward to further growing the sale in 2013.”  Gould adds.
