Wilmington Plastic Surgery Adds Physician Assistant To Medical Team
Wilmington Plastic Surgery is pleased to announce the addition of Jacqueline Rowland Carroll, PA-C, to our medical staff. As a part-time physician assistant, Carroll will work under the direction of Wilmington Plastic Surgery’s four board-certified physicians: Kenneth S. White, MD, FACS, Charles R. Kays, DMD, MD, FACS, Jeffrey S. Church, MD, DDS, FACS, and Mark W. Morgan, MD, FACS.
Carroll completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC, and her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Trained in all studies of medicine, she has been a full-time trauma and orthopedic surgery physician assistant at New Hanover Regional Medical Center since 2004.
In addition to holding many teaching and leadership positions at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and elsewhere in the Wilmington area, Carroll has received several awards at NHRMC, including the Maxwell Award for Excellence in Surgery and the Tina Hewett Award of Excellence in trauma services.
Carroll is professionally certified by the North Carolina Medical Board, the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. She is active in many local and state PA associations, and is heavily involved with New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s trauma and injury prevention teams.
“I have always been interested in every aspect of plastic surgery,” says Carroll. “Traumatic injury repair and reconstruction, as well as complicated wound management, go hand-in-hand with my trauma background. I am also interested in post-cancer reconstructive surgery, skin treatments and lesion management, and the many options for invasive and non-invasive cosmetic treatments.”
“Mrs. Carroll will be such a complement to our team,” says Guy Williams, CMPE, practice administrator for Wilmington Plastic Surgery. “Her experience and skill set, especially concerning skin procedures, will allow us to serve even more patients with a wide variety of cosmetic and reconstructive issues.”
“I truly enjoy the art and practice of medicine,” says Carroll. “Making a positive impact on my patients and their families when they are undergoing medical care is priceless.”
Wilmington Plastic Surgery has been serving southeastern North Carolina for more than 30 years. Together with a highly experienced staff of nurses and technicians, the four board-certified plastic surgeons and physician assistant offer patients a complete range of surgical and non-invasive reconstructive and cosmetic procedures.
