Oct. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Jewelry Designer Isaac Levy to Speak at the 2012 Statement Makers Event October 23rd

RICHMOND, VA: Isaac Levy, the co-founder and designer of the Yvel jewelry collections will be the featured speaker at the inaugural 2012 Statement Makers event on Tuesday evening, October 23, at the Virginia Center for Architecture. The award-winning jeweler will focus on design, as well as the importance of individual and corporate philanthropy.
The individuals on Richmond magazine’s honoree list of fashion standouts will be awarded at the event from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. The public is invited to attend, admission is free, seating is limited so reservations are required. Call 804.355.0111, ext. 306 for reservations.

Yvel, an exclusive international luxury jewelry brand, specializes in fashioning works of art from organic baroque pearls and asymmetrical precious gemstones set in 18k gold. Yvel has been awarded many international design awards, including the prestigious Town & Country Couture Design Award and celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Debra Messing, Isla Fisher, and Rihanna have all graced the red carpet wearing Yvel designs. Isaac Levy will also make a personal appearance at Schwarzschild Jewelers Short Pump Town Center on Wednesday, October 24, bringing with him several one-of-a-kind pieces from the new collections.

Corporate philanthropy and social responsibility is integral to Levy’s personal and business philosophy. Remembering his own difficult immigration experience as a young immigrant from Argentina, Isaac and his wife Orna celebrated Yvel’s 25th anniversary with the establishment of the Megemeria School of Jewelry and Art. This unique philanthropic program offers professional training in jewelry crafting and design and employment opportunities to Ethiopian new immigrants, giving them the tools to better integrate into Israeli society.

“The opportunity to give back to the Israeli community,” said Levy, “is a personal passion for me, just as the concept of ‘Tikkun Olam’ or repairing the world is at the heart of our culture. The international success of Yvel has enabled us to create a powerful and positive program that we hope will have an enduring impact on the lives of our students.”

Isaac Levy will speak at the RVA Statement Makers Event on October 23, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, at the Virginia Center for Architecture, 2501 Monument Avenue. To make a reservation, please contact melanier@richmag.com or call 804.355.0111, ext. 306.
