Shooting locations will include; the forests of Connecticut, the rich farmland of the Hudson Valley, the mountains and deep woods of Woodstock, and Central Park, NYC.
In recognition of breast cancer awareness month, Mr. Sturman will be photographing breast cancer victor Yuladi Saluti. Ms. Saluti is a formidable yoga teacher, indomitable spirit and mother of six. Also included on the tour, a shoot with Master Tao Porch Lynch, who at 94 is our world’s oldest yoga teacher.
Robert Sturman commenting on this Fall East Coast Yogini tour said: “I am very excited to be in New England again, making art with these incredibly talented and emotionally honest yoginis. I can’t wait to see what we come up with, and I profoundly thank all participants for sharing themselves with me and my camera.”
Notes to Editors:
ABOUT ROBERT STURMAN
A dedicated yoga practitioner himself, Sturman's work has increasingly focused on capturing the timeless grace and embodied mindfulness of asana. His portraits, whether set in the lively streets of Manhattan, the expansiveness of Malibu's beaches and canyons, the timeless elegance of Walden's New England, or the bleakness of San Quentin Prison, remind us that there is beauty everywhere. In Sturman's own words "I often think of Rumi: 'I can't stop pointing to the beauty.' That feels right to me."
