Brammer secures new contract with BAE systems. Leading MRO supplier wins significant new contract.

Brammer, the UK’s leading supplier of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products, has secured a new contract with BAE Systems, strengthening its reputation as a leading partner to the defence, security and aerospace sectors.

Oct. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Following a competitive tender process, Brammer has been selected to manage BAE Systems’ MRO supply chain in the UK, as well as implementing a range of other value-added services to some of the company’s UK sites. A global company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defence, security and aerospace systems, BAE Systems has already achieved significant operational cost savings and production efficiency improvements since the contract with Brammer began.

Brammer initially implemented its Insite TM service at three key BAE Systems sites to optimise the sourcing and management of MRO spares. Effectively a dedicated Brammer branch on a company’s premises, the success of this approach has seen the service extended to a further three sites.

Brammer’s technical experts have already identified opportunities for OEM parts conversion, helping reduce purchasing costs and deliver component standardisation, while ensuring cash is not tied up in unused inventory, whilst still guaranteeing availability when needed.

Francis Gregson, Category Leader, Indirect Procurement at BAE Systems, commented: “Brammer demonstrates an ethos of continuous improvement, evident in all aspects of its offering, from the MRO supply chain to the onsite support provided. This culture was a key factor in our decision to appoint Brammer to manage our MRO operations.

“The Insite TM service enables easy access to Brammer’s team of technical experts, who can help our engineers with any questions or advice needed, as well as a single point of contact for all components. The Brammer team are able to quickly respond to our MRO needs and have established themselves as an integral part of our supply chain.”

Martin Rudge, key account manager for aerospace and defence at Brammer, added: “Brammer is already established as a key partner to many of Europe’s leading aerospace companies and our understanding of the sector played an important role in securing this contract. The partnership has gone from strength to strength from day one, adding significant value to BAE Systems operations in the UK.”
