‘Not only Kilmallock town but the month of November itself has proved to be the inspiration for SoulScapes,’
According to Caoimhe Reidy of Friars’ Gate Theatre: “Such was the demand for seats for last year’s SoulScapes, we could have filled the theatre twice over. This year we have secured an equally impressive line up of speakers and performers that are sure to inspire, uplift, challenge and entertain us as we head into the dark nights of winter.”
The SoulScapes series leads off with Emma Hannigan on Wednesday, November 7th, an inspirational woman who has battled cancer many times. People will know her from her book ‘Talk to the Headscarf’ which is also the title of her SoulScapes talk. On the second Wednesday November 14th, Peter Murtagh, political editor of the Irish Times will be encouraging us all to explore pilgrimage with his talk on ‘The Camino: Adjusting Perspective by Walking Away your Worries’.
The third Wednesday features one of this country’s most insightful speakers Fintan O’Toole who will be speaking philosophically and sociologically on ‘Reimagining Ireland the Republic’. The final talk on November 28th will be given by compelling speaker Bobby Moore who hails from Belfast and who will speak on the intriguing title ‘The Excitement of Living at the Hinges of History’.
