With its convenient miniPCIe system connector, BGS2 miniPCIe provides flexible integration of cellular modem functionality for M2M applications based on an x86-processor architecture. With a standard 52 pin interface, the miniPCIe card requires a USB and SIM interface as well as power supply and control pins for full operation.
BGS2 mini PCIe can be customised with next generation solderable Machine Identification Modules (MIMs) from Gemalto – replacing the traditional SIM card, extending the product’s life with the highest reliability even in harsh environments.
Measuring just 51x30x4.8mm, BGS2 mini PCIe provides global quad band GSM/GPRS data communications enabling internet access and cloud based services for intelligent systems. It is ideal for mobile computing devices and tablet PC’s, kiosks, ATMs and remote monitoring applications that transmit status notifications, inventory information, alerts and log files between equipment in the field and backend systems. It is compatible with modem drivers for Windows 7, Vista, XP and Linux.
David Taylor, PR Manager of ACTE comments “The release of the BGS2 mini PCI express cards, allows system integrators to adopt industrial wireless technology easily into miniPCIe compatible equipment without the need for a full module design or end terminal integration. Furthermore, the industrial components used guarantee a better wireless reliability in the field as opposed to consumer grade equipment typically available on the market. Cinterion continue the trend of producing low power, class leading industrial cellular wireless modules and solutions.”
