Follow on Google News | Tension Transducer Amplifier For cost-saving tension measurementTension measurement and controls manufacturer Dover Flexo Electronics, Inc. (DFE) has introduced the TrueTension™ Amplifier
By: Dover Flexo Eelctronics This compact I/O device for web converters and printers amplifies a tension signal from tension transducers in a machine’s web path and provides an isolated 0-to-10 VDC or 4-20 mA tension signal output to a PLC, drive, or controller and to a meter display. Quik-Cal™ is a labor-saving feature used during setup that allows the machine technician or operator to push a single ZERO button and then a CALIBRATE button for one second each to set the Zero and Span settings. On less advanced technology, the calibration procedure involves turning potentiometers. Because the zero and calibration settings are stored digitally on the TrueTension amplifier, the output is stable and drift-free over time and through temperature variations. The TrueTension amplifier comes in two power choices: the model TI17C (powered by 110\220 VAC) or the TI18C (powered by 24 Volts DC). A unit features a single, accessible terminal strip for simple installation and wiring. An optional Tension Limit Switch serves as an alarm trigger for web break prevention or an alert to a critical tension change. Mounting choices include circuit card, bracket-mounted, DIN-rail, and full enclosure (pictured). The TI17C and TI18C are CE-marked in the full-enclosure versions.
