Meet a Member of the Mesa Team
Victorville, CA—As the Mesa Real Estate team moves into our new digs at the newly renovated, historic Green Tree Inn in Victorville, we are pleased to introduce one of the professionals who manages deals for us throughout the High Desert of California—Sonya Dod. Licensed since 1989, Sonya is an agent who facilitates successful transactions for buyers as well as sellers, boasting a solid reputation for making deals with honesty and integrity.

Since Sonya was raised on a Texas farm, she isn’t afraid of hard work and long hours. After her parents moved to California 40 years ago, they started buying investment properties. So she grew familiar and comfortable with the process of finding, fixing up and selling properties at an early age.

Having served as an underwriter, processor and loan officer, Sonya has the knowledge and experience necessary to help sellers and buyers avoid wasting time opening meaningless transactions. What’s more, sellers are protected by her expertise as she requires buyers to provide written permission to speak directly to lenders. This unique approach fosters quickly closed deals and eliminates false representation.

Working as an agent for Mesa Real Estate, Sonya lists all properties on Multiple Listing Services (MLS), Victor Valley Association of Realtors (VVAR), which reaches High Desert Realtors, and the California Regional Multiple Listing Service (CRMLS), which includes 24 other associations located in California. By listing on both MLS services, 25,000 realtors are made aware of every Mesa property listing. Also, both MLS services place listings on websites across the nation, enabling each prospective buyer to view properties from the comfort of their own home.

Photographs are extremely important to Sonya, who has closed 117 transactions over the past three years. So she takes an extensive number of pictures, with descriptive captions. This gives prospective buyers the feeling of actually walking through homes while virtually touring properties, which is particularly helpful for out-of-area investors.

“I love holding my clients’ hands during the home-buying process, being careful to explain everything that is taking place. I also copy them on pertinent emails to keep everyone in the loop,” explains Sonya, who adds, “I love my job.”

Sonya and her husband, Brian, are animal lovers who have rescued three dogs including a lab mix, Shiba Inu and a Bernese Mountain mix. In her spare time, she loves fishing, making crafts and babysitting her nephew as well as riding roller coasters…which comes in handy in real estate as anyone in the field will attest.
