Typical reminders work on an audio alarm system. This serves the purpose to be able to remind individuals how have good hearing. The hearing impaired can not hear the alarms and therefore do not have the tool needed to remind them to take their medication.

Med-Q Pill Box has an answer. The user programs the exact times the medication needs to be taken and the MED-Q does the rest. The method is a bright LED light that starts flashing in the individual pill compartment that needs to be take. The bright red light is 'eye catching" and will give the visual reminder that it is time to take their medication. The alarm flashes for a full five minute to make it obvious to the user. If the user misses the first notification, MED-Q repeats the flashing cycle every 25 minutes until the medication is taken and the next alert has been activated.
