Plumb Center's golf day boosts Action for Children

Oct. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Action for Children (AFC), a charity helping the UK’s most vulnerable and neglected young people, has been boosted by a charity golf day held by Plumb Center and Parts Center.

The event, staged at Ingon Manor Golf & Country Club, near Stratford-upon-Avon, was supported by 13 key suppliers. Already the day has raised more than £8,000 and the money is still coming in.

So far in 2012 the business has raised £32,000 for charity with hundreds of staff, customers and suppliers taking part in a wide range of fund-raising ventures.

The day included a sportsmen’s evening, hosted by former England, Liverpool and West Ham football legend Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock and comedy from Dom Thomas, who is set to appear in TV’s Benidorm.

Money was also raised with an auction, a raffle and a sponsored nearest-the-hole competition.

“We’re delighted to support the vital work of AFC,” said organiser, Plumb & Parts’ National Accounts Director, Sean Collins. “Everyone had a great day out and I would like to thank our suppliers for their support.”

Baxi, Vaillant, Worcester, Ideal Heating, Myson, Fernox, Grundfos, Ideal Standard, Twyfords, Bristan, Just Trays, Stelrad and Mira, supported the day.
