Crafts in the Meadow to Feature Four New Sculptors

 
Oct. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Tyler Park Center for the Arts to Feature New Sculptures at the Crafts in the Meadow Juried Art Show

Tyler State Park-Richboro, PA – An opportunity to meet and view the works of four exciting new sculptors in the Tyler Park Sculpture Garden is another fun-filled feature of the upcoming "Crafts in the Meadow" Fall Juried Invitational Craft Show with more than 115 craftsmen and artisans set for Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21 starting at 10am each day at Tyler Park Center for the Arts located at 10 Stable Mill Trail, Richboro, PA in Tyler State Park at the historic Victorian barn (former headquarters of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen).

Crafts in the Meadow visitors and patrons have the added opportunity to tour the Tyler Park Sculpture Garden with works by Peter Cimino (“Draco the Companion” and “Goliath”), Mike Gyampo (“Initiation”, “Strength in Unity”, “The Bather”), Christoph Spath (“Spring”), Kevin Forest (“Trinity Series #7”), Ray Fonce (“Spires”), and Marcia Raff (“Columns (roman numerals) 1, 23 - Series 3”).

This year, works of four new sculptors: Elice Slafka, Oki Fukunaja, Doug Roberts and Chris gahn will be highlighted during special “Inspiration and Technique” talks during Crafts in the Meadow.  Show patrons will have the opportunity to hear the sculptors discuss their work, their creative process, and the influences they have had as they developed their portfolios of work.

“We are committed to supporting the work of artists in every medium”, said Jennifer Miller, Tyler Park Center for the Arts Director. “The opportunity to showcase the work of these talented sculptors to the patrons who come to Crafts in the Meadow, and further expand their understanding of how the sculptures are created, is one of the ways that we are able to fulfill the mission of the Arts Center. We strive to provide the surrounding community of Bucks County with a place for personal growth, learning, and experiences within the realm of arts and craft,” said Ms. Miller.

With gates opening at 10:00am until 5:00pm on both Saturday, October 20 and Sunday October 21st, Crafts in the Meadow provides two exciting days of family fun and inspiration. Adult admission is $6.00 and children under 12 are free.   More details at www.tylerparkarts.org
