Oct. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- ADDISON, TEXAS (Sept. 28, 2012)—The crowd of more than 250 was already in celebration mode when the stars of The Texas Daily and Texas Living began arriving. On hand was The Texas Daily host Jeff Brady, along with his fellow 13 commentators, and Texas Living co-hosts Hilary Kennedy and Kimberly Schlegel Whitman. (Photos/cutlines of the party are included with this release.)
“The party is a sign of really good things to come,” says Brady. “The enthusiasm for our new mix of smart news, opinion and audience participation was very evident, and I think I can speak for the entire cast that we are excited and ready for premiere week! We’ve been on the countdown for awhile now helping prepare the format and rehearsing. Our adrenaline is running, and we are ready to go.”
"I am thrilled that The Texas Daily is bringing back the news legends I grew up with,” says Oh So Cynthia blogger Cynthia Smoot, one of the party attendees. “These familiar faces will give the audience an instant feeling of connection and comfort, which is something we all want when dealing with serious subjects. I look forward to getting reacquainted with them!"
One of the unique aspects of the show is the audience participation, and the team is working to grow its Facebook friends and Twitter followers so when a topic hits home with the viewing audience, they don’t have to talk to the television, they can reach out and be heard. Viewers can tweet @TheTexasDaily, post to Facebook – www.facebook.com/TheTexasDaily, or email comments@ktxdtv.com. Some of the comments will be read on air, adding fuel to the conversation.
Next week when The Texas Daily launches, viewers can expect Brady to introduce relevant news topics that two of the other 13 commentators will talk about. Each day, there will be two new commentators who will bring their views to the table; Brady will be a constant. The anticipated schedule for the first week of the show is:
Oct. 1      Tracy Rowlett and Troy Dungan
Oct. 2      Suzie Humphreys and Scott Murray
Oct. 3      Iola Johnson and John Criswell
Oct. 4      John Sparks and Phyllis Watson
Oct. 5      Debbie Denmon and Robert Riggs
Gary Cogill, Jolene DeVito and Midge Hill will be featured on upcoming shows.
“Although we think there will be mass appeal for The Texas Daily, we designed the show specifically with the Baby Boomers in mind,” says Phil Hurley, EVP and COO of London Broadcasting, parent company of KTXD-TV. “It will be something like Headline News meets The View. Our team will bring their professional journalism hats, but viewers will see sparks fly as they get a chance to share their thoughts about what’s happening in North Texas.”
