Event Description:

Cage Fury Fighting Championships returns October 13 and expands its reach into Delaware as it presents CFFC XVII at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. The exciting card is loaded with the top fighters on the East Coast. CFFC has been on a rampage lately promoting some of the best regional MMA in the country and the fans in Delaware are going to find out firsthand what the fans of the Tri-state area already know; CFFC is where the top fighters on the East Coast fight.

In the main event Aung La "The Burmese Python" N Sang (13-8) fights Jason Louck (16-9) in a middleweight showdown. Sang is a Bellator veteran winning his last bout with the organization by KO in under a minute earlier this year. Sang is a rising star and is finally getting some recognition for his skills and the fans of Delaware will get to see that up close. Sang possesses KO power in both hands and feet, but is more than a one-trick pony as he has defeated multiple opponents via submission as well. Sang loves to come forward and as is constantly on the attack, so his fights are usually highlight material. For Louck, a Midwest veteran who has fought for most everybody in the area, he makes the trip to the East Coast bringing with him a strong wrestling base as well as a nice grappling game. Louck likes to grind down his opponents and outwork them over the course of a full fight, by beating them to the punch and landing takedown after takedown. This
fight will come down to Sang's ability to stuff the takedown and make Louck pay with his fists. Whoever can exert their will over their opponent should be in the driver's seat.

In the co-main event, Mike "The Cowboy" Wilcox (2-1) battles Ray Elliot (0-1) in a light heavyweight bout. Wilcox comes into the bout having fought all previous fights inside the CFFC cage. Still new in the sport, Wilcox is a fast starter and loves to go for the finish. Sometimes this puts him in a precarious position, but more times than not, it is Wilcox who has the advantage because he is so hard to pin down. Wilcox is looking to climb the ranks of CFFC and an impressive win here will do that. Elliot is coming off of a tough loss in his first pro bout and looks to regroup with a victory over Wilcox. For Elliot, this is an opportunity to even his record at .500 and get his early career headed in the right direction. Anytime you have up and coming fighters who are hungry for a win, it is usually a recipe for an action packed fight. Expect fireworks early and this fight to not go the distance.

Myron Baker vs. Ben Syers
Gregory Saumenig vs. Sergio "The Savage" Da Silva
Walter "The Iron Butcher" Howard vs. Anton Berzin
Michael "The Cowboy" Wilcox vs. Ray Elliot
Aung La "The Burmese Python" Nsang vs. Jason Louck

Bradley Jenkins vs. Arnold Nelson
Andrew Hom vs. Damon Bonner

Cage Wars XVIII Credential App

This Credential application is for media to receive a credential to cover CAGE WARS XVIII on GFL.TV this Saturday at 7:30pm EST / 4:30pm PST.

For more information: http://www.gfl.tv/Events/Fight/MMA/Cage_Wars_XVIII/1655

Event Description:

Xtreme Fight Events returns on October 13 with "Cage Wars XVIII", a 13-bout pro/am card, emanating from the Harrah's Casino in Chester Pennsylvania. "Cage Wars" has quickly solidified itself in Pennsylvania as a top-tier MMA event, and the fighters on October 13 will be ready to throw down in the cage.

In the main event, for the Cage Wars Lightweight Title, Champion Ryan Cafaro (4-3) from New Jersey defends his title against challenger Sharif Jones (3-2) from Pennsylvania in what is sure to be a shootout. Cafaro is on a 2-fight win streak, both in Cage Wars, and both with gold on the line. This will be Cafaro's second title defense and third straight title fight. Cafaro is an expert grappler and has finished 3 opponents with a guillotine choke so if the fight hits the mat, look for Cafaro to attack the neck. For Jones, he will look to put his hands on Cafaro early as all of Jones' wins have come via TKO. Jones packs KO power in both hands and throws punches in bunches and with bad intentions. Look for this fight to be all over the cage with the eventual winner probably have to dig deep to overcome adversity in a fight so evenly matched.

In the co-main event, Bellator and Strikeforce veteran Sam Oropeza (5-2) fights Chase "Y U Do Em Like That?" Owens (4-2). Oropeza is coming off a submission win and is the total package as he has a great ground game and his standup is deadly as evidenced by his record which has knockouts from a head kick and ground and pound. Oropeza will look to make a statement in this bout and show that he still belongs with the ranks of the Bellators and Strikeforces of the world. For Owens, this will be his toughest test to date and a great opportunity to show promoters around the world that he is ready to take the next step in his career. Owens is on a 2-fight win streak himself, both via TKO, and will look to attack Oropeza from the opening exchange. Owens has great cardio and wears out his opponents who cannot keep up with his fast pace. This could be the fight of the night in many observers opinion.

Sam Oropeza vs. Richard Rigmaden
Bryan Danner vs. Andrew "Ozzy" Osborne
Nicholas Willey vs. Hakeif Phillips
Christopher Daukaus vs. Devon Harrell
