The SAMFund Racing for Young Adult Cancer Survivors in The Giving Common Challenge

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 10, 2012 - The SAMFund is proud to compete in The Giving Common Challenge, a 36 hour event that runs from 8:00am EDT on October 10, 2012 through 8:00pm EDT on October 11, 2012.

200 Young Adult Cancer Survivors (YAs) need your help so that The SAMFund can support them as they recover from the financial impact of cancer treatment. Through direct financial assistance, in-person and online support, The SAMFund helps young adults move forward towards their personal, professional and educational goals.

What makes The SAMFund unique is that it is the only organization focused exclusively on cancer’s financial repercussions and its programs are neither geographic- nor diagnosis-specific.

The SAMFund’s programs are designed to give YAs the tools to improve their financial situations, reintegrate into society and live independent, fulfilling lives. SAMFund grants, totaling $735,000 since 2005, provide direct assistance with a wide range of needs, including living and medical expenses, family-building and more. In early 2011, The SAMFund launched its free Webinar series to arm YAs with concrete, reliable information and resources so that they can feel empowered to overcome their post-treatment financial obstacles.
