New Port Richey Recreation & Aquatic Center To Celebrate 4th Annual Playful City USA Designation

Oct. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Come out and play on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Frances Avenue Park (on Louisiana just east of Madison Street)  in New Port Richey
(6630 Van Buren St., 34563).  The Center is celebrating its fourth consecutive annual designation as a Playful City USA by KABOOM!

It’ll be two hours of family fun with lots of games for the kids and refreshments. For directions to the site call (727) 841-4560.  

The New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center qualified four years ago as a Playful City for its constructing innovative, kid-inspired play spaces in its park and at the center that improve the well-being of the children in the surrounding neighborhoods and beyond.  

A Playful City goes a long way setting in motion ways to develop healthier, happier, and smarter children along with greener cities, better schools, and  stronger neighborhoods.  

The New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center, located at 6630 Van Buren Street just north of Main Street outside of downtown, is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is a $14M state-of-the-art facility that offers a variety of affordable, recreational activities for every one of all ages in Pasco County. The facility is open to the public. Daily, monthly and annual memberships now available at new rates with resident discounts available.  

The City of New Port Richey is a residential community with a strong local government with a state-designated historical downtown and Main Street, which is home to a variety of unique retail businesses and restaurants.  Since its incorporation in 1924, the city is most recognized for its cultural heritage and remarkable riverfront landscape. Located in Western Pasco County, New Port Richey is approximately thirty miles northwest of Greater Tampa and within a few miles to the Gulf of Mexico.
