"Carnival Horror" was discovered when Benavides met writer/director Jared Cohn at a producer's conference last summer. Jared Cohn is best known for his writing credits "Born Bad" and "12/12/12". "Carnival" is set in 2027 Oakland, CA where certain parts of the country endure decades of quarantine to prevent disease. Bryan, a 20's something, sociopath seeks revenge against a rival gang and aims to win the girl after finding a new appreciation for the life. Benavides joined the project as co-writer in January of 2012 and has been revising the script along side Jared Cohn since. The two up and coming writer/directors have taken a familiar post-apocalyptic setting and added a bold, brutal, revenge tale. Samuel N. Benavides willl direct which will please horror fans across the country. This marks Benavides' first feature follow up to his "Mansfield Path" which is currently broadcasting on Shorts Ch, Sundance Ch, Flix Network and Itunes.
