Dacoit Ratnakar was asked by the saint, ‘Will your family members share the burdens of your sins?’. Ratnakar believed every one of his family members will willingly share the burdens as he was committing sin for their welfare only. The saint insisted on Ratnakar asking his family members if they were actually willing to share the burden. To his shock and dismay, Dacoit Ratnakar realises none of them were willing to share the burden of his sins.
Dacoit Ratnakar got transformed into Saint Walmiki. He wrote the great indian epic, Ramayan.
If the question was not asked by the saint to Dacoit Ratnakar, the dacoit would have never become a saint. The world would have lost a great poet. Questions are indeed powerful, isn’t it?
A big payment was ready with Madras Refineries Ltd. I was working as a manager in Shivmoni & Co. I was lazy. I postponed the visit by a day even when I knew the payment was needed at office. When my boss, who stayed in Kolkatta, called…I lazily said, ‘I will go tomorrow.’ There was no regret in my voice. He got very upset with my carelessness and asked me, ‘If this was your own office, would you have done the same?’
That was the last day, anyone ever had to point a finger at me for my carelessness. After that, where ever I worked, I gave my 100%. Never ever anyone could complain about my work ethics. I worked everywhere as if it was indeed ‘my office’. If that question was not asked, I would have remained a mediocre performer. Today, I excel in everything that I do. Questions are indeed powerful.
Has anyone ever got a solution without asking a Question?
Right questions give right direction to life, isn’t it?
Only those people who ask questions discover insights, isn’t it?
The five W’s (who, why, what, when and where) and a H (how) are a human beings best friends, right?
Many were thrown out of the train. When it happened to him, he asked himself this question, ‘Should I be silent or should I raise my voice against this discrimination?’
She sees a leper. She is moved. She dares to ask her chief, ‘From today, can I serve the lepers instead of serving you?’ The Missionaries of Charity is created. A path breaking simple question continues to give dignity to the grief stricken.
She was law abiding. Yet she was punished. She was posted to the house of all crimes, Tihar Jail. Determined to create change by bringing in an inner transformation, she asked the inmates, ‘Do you pray?’. Kiran Bedi’s humanitarian question transformed a den of criminal activities into an Ashram. Those who used to ‘prey’ stopped preying and started believing in praying. For many inmates, Tihar Jail became Tihar Ashram. Questions are powerful, isn’t it?
My dearest darling readers, we in Life School are always searching for ways and means by which we can play our role in guiding you in living a purposeful, impactful, joyous life.
While we will continue to regale and transform you through insights every tuesday through this ‘Life School Message’, there is another great new initiative for all of us.
Starting this Friday, we will be posting, sometimes a wonderful thought provoking question, sometimes a intelligence stimulating question, sometimes a rib tickling question, sometimes a grimacing question, sometimes an inspiring question, for our readers. We believe Questions are very very powerful. Hence, this new initiative.
While some of us love to get the answers, many times we should ‘discover’
We have realised people not only want answers, they also want questions where ‘they’ will search for the answers. Hence, this effort.
Please visit the website www.lifeschool.co.in or
our FB page https://www.facebook.com/
The questions will be released every Friday at 3 pm. from October 12th.
We look forward to creating a group of people who will actively be involved in expressing their thoughts, values, opinions, ideas to each other. We look forward to your active participation through your contribution, your sharings, your questions and your answers through this platform. We are very excited about this ground breaking brand new initiative.
We believe, we are creating a pool of talented people, who care for each other. We believe this will be a platform for people to participate and not stay as spectators. Looking forward to your thoughts on this idea.
Please feel free to express yourself freely. Thats what genuine relationships are about, right?
Somewhere, here and there, may you soon stumble upon a question that transforms your life. This is our belief. This is what we are dreaming of nowadays. Lets believe together. Lets dream together.
With loads of love, prayers and best wishes,
As I Live…I Learn
