By adding these popular social media outlets, the ABIH is able to quickly and efficiently reach professionals involved with the industrial hygiene profession. Equally important, the ABIH is now also accessible to anyone with internet access through these social media sites.
“The ABIH’s use of social media will allow us to almost instantaneously spread our message to professionals, industry and the public,” reported Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH. “Just last week, Facebook announced they had reached the 1 billion user milestone. By developing our new ABIH Facebook page we are now accessible to all of them. Our new ABIH Group on LinkedIn will not only allow us to disseminate information, but also allow people to network, share ideas, and engage in professional discussions. These are all great developments for people who are involved in the industrial hygiene profession as well as another tool for us to use to educate industry about the importance of hiring CIHs.”
