The new collection of SAMY GI line features sophisticated and very simple designs at the same time, with a contemporary edge, inspired by the passion the designer feels for his homeland, Venezuela. The proposal has attracted much attention for its designs emphasizing cuts in the sleeves with the colors and patterns –inspiring Gicherman to name his collection ‘Pajaro de Fuego’ by capturing forms like the wings of birds in Venezuela.
With this collection Samy Gicherman shows one more time why he has always been recognized: his irreverence to the combination of colors, patterns and textures. "As a designer I always carry with me Latin flavor and color of my land. I have in my mind the smells of the forest and the inspiration of the sea,” said Gicherman. “This collection is oriented toward the woman of my dreams, the ideal woman."
"Houston Fashion Week" will be held from October 08th to 14th, 2012. Samy Gicherman will make special appearance as guest designer on October 10 at the premises of ‘The Colombed'or Hotel & Spa’ located at 3410 Montrose Boulevard in Houston, Texas.

About Samy Gicherman
Samy Gicherman has become a renowned fashion designer in USA, after he internationally opened his Haute Couture Atelier in the city of Miami. In 2004, he was invited to participate in "Corazones de la Moda" fashion show next to Nicolas Felizola, Franco Montoro and Hugo Espina, in addition to design the dress of Mónica Spears who was crowned “Miss Venezuela 2004”.
The same year, this talented designer participated for the first time at "Miami Fashion Week" gaining a lot of attention from national and worldwide media. In 2005, Gicherman came back to Miami Fashion Week, surpassing the success of the previous year.
Since then, Giherman’s designs have become the favorite pieces among Hispanic celebrities such as: Lucia Méndez, Barbara Bermudo, Gabriela Spanic, Myrka Dellanos, Giselle Blondet, Charity Goico and Carolina Tejera.
His spring-summer collection 2008 was featured at Harper’s Bazar Fashion Week, in addition to dress the finalists at "Nuestra Belleza Latina" of Univision television.
In 2011, Samy Gicherman came back to Miami Fashion Week with “La Estacion del Tren” Collection featuring one-of-a-kind pieces with his unique style that were celebrated by the most influential people in the fashion industry.
In 2012 Gicherman launched successfully his new line SAMY GI featuring his first collection “Pajaro de Fuego” that has been traveling around USA and Latin America.
