Follow on Google News | Shropshire law firm raises money for Macmillan in The World's Biggest Coffee MorningStaff from leading Shropshire law firm recently took a tasty break for elevenses to raise vital cash for charity.
By: Martin Kaye LLP The team from the leading law firm on Euston Way, Telford, took part in this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Our legal support co-ordinator June Noto organised it and co-ordinated the efforts of everyone involved to bake the cakes for the event. Commenting on Martin Kaye’s contribution to the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, June said: “We wanted to encourage as many people to donate to the cause as possible, so we created a whole host of treats for people to try. “Everyone has been incredibly generous and we’re hoping to have raised a great amount for the appeal, which makes such a difference to people’s lives. “At Martin-Kaye, we’re always keen to support charities in the local area, and we felt that taking part in an event like this would be an excellent opportunity for staff to mingle and raise money for a good cause at the same time.” Macmillan Cancer Support has held The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning every year since 1991. It is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event. When it was first held, 2,600 people registered to hold coffee mornings across the UK, which had increased to 51,000 by last year. Since 1991 the event has raised over £60 million for Macmillan Cancer Support, with a record £10 million being raised at last year’s event. Organisers had hoped to improve on that even more this year so that Macmillan can continue to help change the lives of people affected by cancer.
