Career Planning Day is an inspirational, educational, networking event for past, present, and future students of Professor Fiero's renowned Career Planning course, offered through San Francisco State University's College of Extended Learning.
It features a lively panel discussion of prominent professionals who share career insights, and former students who have taken Professor Fiero's course and excelled in their career endeavors as a result.
This year's Career Planning Day event will feature the premiere of the documentary, "Drive," which focuses on the role that self-motivation plays in the success equation.
"I'm beyond thrilled to be presenting this film. It was produced by one of my top students, Carrie Wong, who labored for months to complete it," says Professor Fiero, "She put her vision, heart, soul, values, and talent into a project that I'm not only proud to be featured in, but one that I feel will enlighten and empower many for years to come."
The film also features venerable Bay Area entertainment attorney, Michael Ashburne, who is also the co-founder of the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association. He will participate as a panelist, as will Carrie Wong.
For the past 5 years, Professor Fiero's Career Planning Day has been instrumental in fostering a sense of community while affording past and present students the opportunity to nurture and build relationships with like-minded individuals who share the same drive.
"I've always been surprised that institutions of higher learning don't employ more metrics to assess what students actually learn, and what professors are effectively teaching," Professor Fiero ponders quizzically, "My Career Planning Day events afford me the opportunity to evaluate the success of my course curriculum in terms of efficacy and usefulness."
Media is encouraged to attend.
