-----------------------------------------------------
On our way from Edfu Temple, to Kom Ombo Temple in Aswan, actually the most spectacular heritage of Ancient Egypt and pharoahs in ptolemaic ages, we’ve settled for one night at Gebel (hill or mountain) Silsila, which is a great site that looks like a side hill of highs and lows sandstone formations that you won’t get to see except in daylight.
Unlike huge nile cruises, you only get to see the quarry site of Gebel Silsila sailing on a Dahabiya cruise, but you can visit from Aswan or Edfu. Sailing on a Dahabiya nile cruise had taken us to that bespoke beautiful scenery of relaxation of agricultural lands and villagers, different culture, and green areas in the flow of the river Nile. During the day the weather was lovely and you just couldn’t resist the sun rays kissing your skin tones.
Two guards wearing Jalabeyas welcomed us and were kind enough to guide our tour helping us excavate our small tirp up on Gebel Silsila hill. Since they are one of the locals, they knew so much about everything about Ancient Egyptian history and the site!
