Explaining their Total Quality Index, Alexander Edwards, the president of Strategic Vision said, “we factor in all the perceptions that are proven to create the impression of Total Quality; this is ultimately how people think about vehicles and spend money.” He added that companies such as Volkswagen “have invested significantly in improving the quality of their products and improving the overall ownership experience, with very positive results.”

Three different VW models received the Top Quality rating for 2012: the Golf, the Tiguan, and the Eos. Both the Tiguan SUV and the Golf subcompact have been Top Quality leaders in their divisions for three consecutive years now. This year the Eos has joined them by being named the top-rated model in its class, the “under $30,000 convertible” segment. All three vehicles are also among the most popular in their class among consumers in general.
