Sunrise Chevrolet Has Pledged to “Pink Differently” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This October, Sunrise Chevrolet will be doing their part by raising $5,000 for the American Cancer Society and participating in a local awareness walk.

Oct. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and as people all across the country get ready to help lead the fight against cancer, the auto professionals at Sunrise Chevrolet in Glendale Heights will be doing their part by participating in the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer DuPage County Awareness Walk. Furthermore, they will be donating an extra $2 for every person that “Likes” Sunrise Chevrolet on Facebook! As part of their team pledge, Sunrise Chevrolet will be working to raise $5,000 for the American Cancer Society, one of the world leaders in the battle against breast cancer. By walking and raising money, they will be looking to raise awareness for a serious health issue that affects millions of women.

Set to be held on October 21 at 9:00 am (rain or shine) at Wheaton’s Cantigny Park, the 2012 Making Strides awareness walk is a wonderful opportunity for communities to come together to recognize breast cancer survivors, help shine light on the issues, and generate funds that go directly to the American Cancer Society and their efforts to provide mammograms, cancer research, and services for people in need. It’s directly because of small, community events like these that the American Cancer Society has the resources to help provide treatment and support to women with breast cancer — which has helped 2.5 million women to celebrate birthdays this year they didn’t think they would have.

Sunrise Chevrolet is both humbled and excited to participate in what promises to be such a moving and inspirational event for the entire DuPage community — and with their $5,000 goal, they’re aiming to generate what could be the largest contribution of the walk. With less than a month remaining, however, Glendale Heights area residents are encouraged to help support the Sunrise team either with a donation or by participating as well. Pre-registration for the event starts at only $25, while same-day registration costs $30, though both count toward a team’s fundraising total.

For the folks at Sunrise Chevrolet, this sort of community outreach isn’t just an October thing — all year round they’re dedicated to making a positive impact on the entire Illinois community.
