Westfield and New Trier High School
Westfield believes that hands-on experience is essential in the fashion world and this season they will be giving a lucky group of fashion students the chance to dive in. Partnering with Oak Street Design, Westfield Old Orchard is giving New Trier High School’s Fashion Marketing and Merchandising classes the chance to connect directly with industry professionals and take part in the holiday visual displays for a selection of retailers.
For their fall semester, students will participate in a Visual Merchandising Workshop, where they will learn the tools needed to conceptualize and design effective visual merchandising displays. They will then use their newly acquired expertise to create three indoor sculptures representing the best in home, fashion and culinary from top retailers at Westfield Old Orchard. Each sculpture will be displayed select retailers during the holiday season, beginning November 5 through December 31.
Westfield’s goal in partnering with New Trier High School is to show support for the community, education and learning. By providing this experience to the local students, it also hopes to energize the shoppers, retailers and surrounding communities by creating a fresh visual experience for the shopping center during the holiday season.
