Add Online Scheduling to Your Newsletters...It's Easy

Newsletters are not just for communicating. They can also be a valuable marketing tool for increasing sales and boosting revenue.

Oct. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- If you’re like many businesses and organizations, you probably periodically send out a newsletter to your customers and subscribed individuals to let them know about what’s new, current specials, discounts and promotions, and anything else they may interested in reading.

Newsletters are not just for communicating. They can also be a valuable marketing tool for increasing sales and boosting revenue.

However, just writing and sending a newsletter doesn’t necessarily mean it will have the results you’re looking. What’s included in the newsletter and who it’s sent to have a significant impact on whether or not it’ll be successful.

Here are four reasons why your newsletters don’t make your business any money.
The subject line is not capturing their attention. To key to getting customers to open your newsletter is a catchy subject line. Make sure they know that the newsletter is coming from your business or organization (so that it’s not immediately tagged as spam or junk mail) and that the subject line intrigues them to open the message.

The newsletter copy is boring and not interesting. When it comes to engaging newsletter copy, put yourselves in your customers’ shoes and ask yourself, “Is this something I would find beneficial and actually read?” If the answer is no, start indentifying messages that are pertinent to your customers’ interests. Obviously, discounts and promotions are high on the list, but there’s usually other news that readers would also be interested in reading more about.

You don’t give readers scheduling solutions to purchase and book services directly from the newsletter. You promote a fantastic discount or promotion in your newsletter, yet only a handful are booking their appointments after reading about it. Why? Maybe it’s because they have to phone or e-mail in their appointment request, instead of being able to instantly book it through an online scheduling button or link right in the newsletter. Scheduling online is quick and easy (and can generate additional sales for your business).

You don’t have an updated mailing list of customers’ e-mails. Incorrect e-mail addresses can wreck havoc on a successful newsletter campaign. The more customers that receive your newsletters, the more business you’ll generate from them. Maintaining and updating e-mail addresses can be a challenge, so consider an application that can simplify and automate this task, such as using an online scheduling software application.
