Point of Care Health IT Summit & Golf Outing

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 6, 2012 - Horsham, PA - RMS Omega Technologies, a leading healthcare systems integrator, is excited to announce a complimentary event for Philadelphia area Healthcare Professionals on October 23, 2012 at Commonwealth National Golf Club. Presented in conjunction with Motorola Solutions, Zebra Technologies & Iatric Systems, the event will consist of educational presentations in the morning, followed by lunch and a free golf outing for participants.

Beginning at 8:30 AM, morning sessions will focus on the regulations, best practices, work flow and subsequent ROI of implementing point of care technology. The event kicks off with key speaker Mark Neuenschwander, a leading expert in the field of drug dispensing automation and barcode point-of-care systems and co-founder of The unSUMMIT for Bedside Barcoding. Mark will be sharing the latest trends of barcode technology in hospitals, at the point and on the path to patient care.

Following Neuenschwander’s presentation, the event continues with a session on RFID and RTLS (Real-time Tracking Location Systems) technology focusing on patient safety. RMS Omega business partner Airista, will present applications for the technology including hand hygiene compliance, cold storage temperature monitoring and reporting, asset tracking, equipment maintenance reporting, patient flow and personnel management, and lab and specimen visibility.

Lastly, Linda Trask, Manager of Laboratory Solutions at Iatric Systems, will discuss how to achieve ROI with barcode specimen collection. Linda has implemented barcode specimen collection at more than 100 hospitals across the nation eliminating patient identification and specimen labeling errors.

Healthcare specialists from both Motorola Solutions and Zebra Technologies will be on site with new technology and devices designed specifically for the hospital environment.
