Adventure Book Gets Preteens to Read

The Further Adventures of Koko and Moochee, by J.R. Hardin, is “hard to put down and full of action,” says ten-year-old Faith Darling. “I haven’t found a book that interested me in a long time, but this one was fun and thrilling. I really liked that the dogs and cat were smarter than the villains,” said Miss Darling. “I won’t tell the ending, though, that would spoil it.”

Even adult readers find the story well detailed and full of life. The two dogs and Tango, the cat, use logic that is believable to anyone who has ever owned either kind of pet. J.R. Hardin really knows dog behavior and uses his knowledge to create realistic scenes and actions that the reader can easily visualize, bringing the reader into the story to cheer for the small heroes.  

This is the second volume focusing on the dogs. Hardin’s first book, The Adventures of Little Dog Koko, was released in May 2011 and received a high ratings from Readers Favorite and other reviewers. About Author J.R. (Randy) Hardin

A late blooming author, Hardin saved his best for now. Beginning his writing career after a decades long delay, this north Georgia writer captures children’s imaginations in the pages of his adventure books.
