PRLog - Oct. 5, 2012 - London, South African development company Snapt has made its debut into the UK market with the Snapt ADC - a powerful application delivery controller including Snapt’s load balancer and web accelerator, designed to enable corporations to get the maximum throughput, reliability and visibility from their server farms and web sites.
Snapt’s solution platform enables corporate to utilise open source software, whilst having the peace of mind that they will get the same support as commercial offerings. In addition the solutions provide corporates with a powerful and efficient way of monitoring their web services, improving their performance, preventing downtime and ensuring it gets maximum data throughput from its servers.
"Our arrival in the UK market will make open source software a serious option for large corporates and datacentres, who may have shunned it before due to support and complexity issues," explained Dave Blakey, CEO of Snapt. "Snapt offerings work within companies’ existing frameworks and enable them to monitor, control and optimise their servers and software in the same way they would commercial software, but at fraction of the cost”.
Snapt Balancer is a powerful, customisable layer 7 load balancer that turns the already robust HAProxy Load Balancer into a feature-rich and easy-to-use solution. It enables corporates to share the load of SQL, SMTP, HTTP, or any TCP traffic across any number of servers, and can be easily expanded with weights, maximum limits and several balancing methods.
Snapt Balancer gives users access to features such as advanced reporting, control over the config file and status alerts that improve overall use of the HAProxy load balancer, as well as introducing full redundancy and SSL offloading/termination, and layer 7 support. The software comes complete with on-going technical support, in order to ensure long-term efficacy.
Snapt Web Accelerator does just what it says on the box. It allows corporate IT Departments to cache static content, protect against denial of service attacks, limit server abuse, manage data throughput and terminate and optimize SSL traffic.
“With the server load balancing taken care of Snapt Web Accelerator looks to reduce the load on server farms by over 40 per cent and speed up load times and the Web experience for users,” explained Blakey. “Server crashes and downtime can now be a thing of the past with Snapt’s innovative, cost effective delivery and management capabilities”
Snapt takes open-source software to the next level with affordable and accessible snap-on user interfaces, complete with the reporting capacity and expert support corporate have come to expect from commercial software packages.
Since launching in August 2011, Snapt has already acquired a number of large international clients, who use Snapt’s unique offerings to effectively manage server capacity, as well as to maintain and monitor network systems and intranets.
