This city in Southern France located on the Mediterranean coast between Marseille and Genoa, Italy draws celebrities and tourists from all over the world for being “Paris by the sea”. With its cathedrals, ancient Roman ruins, museums and galleries second only to Paris, restaurants and beach, it earned the nickname, “Nice la Belle” (Nice the Beautiful).
One Kapamilya Go in Nice France was a huge success for TFC Europe & ABS-CBN RNG.
Among Nice’s modern attractions is the Palais des Congrès Acropolis, a world-renowned complex nestled in the heart of the city’s downtown area. On September 14, around 2,000 Filipinos represented at the Acropolis when ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (RNG) and TFC Europe joined hands to hold the historic “One Kapamilya Go – the NICEst Event”. Flying in from the Philippines were huge and hot Kapamilya stars Piolo Pascual, Maja Salvador, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. Fans from other European countries like Italy and United Kingdom flew in just to take part at the event and join in the fun with top Filipino entertainment.
Gates opened at 1:00 in the afternoon. Prior to the start of the European finals of TFCKat – TFC’s own global talent search – Consul Deena Jay Amatong from the Philippine Embassy in Paris promoted the Philippine Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) registration – a global partnership of TFC with the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs and Commission on Elections. For the grand finals of TFCKat Europe, contestants from France, United Kingdom, Italy and Spain were brought to the event to compete for the regional grand prize of £2,000, a plaque, plus a trip to Manila with a chance to compete in “Pilipinas Got Talent”. When the battlesmoke cleared, Maverick “E-Twist” Gomez Silang of Spain ran away with the title because of his loads of charm and amazing talent in dancing. Voted People’s Choice Awardee was Al Angelo Bernal of United Kingdom. His video profile on the TFC Europe Facebook community page earned 1,647 likes/votes.
After TFCKat, attendees of the event got a huge fans’ treat with the premiere of the box-office hit film, “The Mistress”, with no less than its stars, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo gracing the event. The film was given a big round of applause by the crowd.
Following the premiere of “The Mistress” was the Artist Segment hosted by Maja Salvador who also performed song and dance numbers. Crowd shrieks of delight grew even louder as John Lloyd, Bea Alonzo and Piolo Pascual entertained the audience with individual musical performances. All the artists showed their appreciation by bravely going off stage to shake hands with the fans.
TFC.tv – the digital tambayan (hub) of the global Pinoy - the newest, exciting way to watch TFC plus more online and on-demand, launched at the event. It had product demonstrations and merchandising at the venue. Maja and Piolo introduced the video presentation, after which all the artists were called on stage to present the TFC.tv “Click Tayo” music video which showcases 30 of TFC’s top stars singing and dancing to Chocolate Beef’s “Barkada” song.
