Royal India celebrates Diwali Festival of Lights with music, performances and special holiday menu

The Downtown San Diego restaurant will observe the holiday and invite the public to celebrate on Saturday, November 17th
 
Oct. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- San Diego, Calif. – (August 31, 2012) - If the excitement of New Year's celebrations seems a bit distant, Royal India Restaurant has got you covered: The restaurant voted “Best Indian 2012” by San Diego Magazine and “Most Romantic” by CitySearch, invites you to join in the celebration of Diwali: the Indian Festival of Lights and the New Year, with special festivities.

On Saturday, November 17th at 5:00 p.m., Co-Owners Sam and Jag Kambo are pleased to once again bring the Diwali celebration to Royal India with a special celebratory menu, complete with champagne, 200 candles, traditional music and festive décor.

At 5:00 p.m. the candle lighting ceremony will begin while guests are served tea and sweets, at no charge, by the wait staff dressed in traditional garb. From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. belly dancers will perform alongside a sitar player, while guests have the option to get bindis, the forehead decorations traditionally worn in several areas of India.

Diwali, India's most auspicious and widely celebrated festival is a day of renewal that marks the Indian New Year. Celebrated in India on November 13th, it is the day on which Indians of all ages, languages, states and sects usher prosperity into their homes and businesses.
