From 11:00AM to 4:45PM, chef demos will take place under a designated tent. The demos will be done by local food personalities, farmers, fishermen and food producers.
From 1:00PM to 1:45PM, Executive Chef Josh Lewin will be demonstrating on locally sourced, wild, edible and medicinal plants with the help of David Craft, author of Urban Foraging and Katja Swift, a clinical herbalist. The demo titled “Eating and Living Locally – By Getting Wild with Josh Lewin, David Craft and Katja Swift” will teach guests what plants to use for cooking, as well as preservation techniques and medicinal value. Lewin, Craft and Swift will focus on teaching how to eat delicious food while being health conscious and environmentally aware at the same time. Foraged ingredients will also be included at the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro booth all day, and the tent will be serving up crab apple and parsnip soup.
